This project is located in Denmark, in Copenhagen, on a site that illustrates the place of a city between land and sea, between the urban and the coastal. In other, more popular terms, we can speak of a Scandinavian Venice. Around a major axis, which is to do with the existing, several approaches are grafted onto the historical and geographical strengths of the sites, namely to transform former production sites into cultural proposals which are fully in line with the current actions of the city. This project is taking place on the block of the Kødbyen district in Vesterbrø, close to the city centre and the river. Historically, this was the city’s slaughterhouses, on the outskirts of the city centre. Now, these brick structures have been partially hollowed out to accommodate a Montessori school, with artefacts transcending the facades and dressing the window grid in a colourful, vivid and dynamic way.
