Light is an indispensable part of human life, and human beings are naturally curious groups, especially in the early childhood stage, which is the most curious stage in a person’s life, so we want children to be exposed to light to understand light, The fun of interacting with light and shadow is of great significance to the enlightenment of young children. Therefore, we will create a light and shadow space for young children.In China, most kindergartens are basically distributed in residential areas, so the space is small. At the same time, because the kindergarten closes at 4:00 in the afternoon, but the parents do not get off work until 5:00, and during commuting time, children have at least an hour of window period in the kindergarten. Scientific research shows that between 4 and 5 p.m., the light released by the sun contains some beneficial substances for children, and these elements are very necessary in early childhood. The renovation this time is at the Radio and Television Kindergarten in Tianhe District, Guangzhou City, China. According to the actual situation, four bubble spaces with different openings and different functions are designed to give children a better lighting experience. Since our site was surrounded by tall residential buildings, the original outdoor activity space was not well lit, and the lack of light became a big problem for the children. In response to this problem, we will mainly focus on the renovation of the top of the kindergarten so that children can better access the sun.The first space from low to high is the interactive space of light and shadow. The sunlight is reflected to the target area through the sunlight pixel device [Wu Donghui. Sunlight pixel device and display method and system]. On this basis, three colors of red, green and blue are used at the same time. Glass similar to the principle of ‘RGB’ channel makes shadows into color to form a space that interacts with sunlight.The second space is the ecological space as an air corridor connecting the second floor and the third floor. Based on the current situation of less green plants on the site, an ecological space is created through a hole-drilling method suitable for plant growth, so that children can have more contact with nature.The third space is the entertainment space. Balls with refraction function are arranged. Through the spherical openings on the facade, a staggered light and shadow effect is formed on the wall, allowing children to travel between light and shadow while entertaining.The fourth space is the reading space. The glass at the hole is coated with diffuse reflection paint to soften the light to protect eyesight. At the same time, it creates a relatively quiet environment and provides a space for children to meditate.Regarding the relationship between Bubble and the original kindergarten, the streamlines of the four spaces can connect indoor and outdoor, creating more possibilities for the originally closed classroom with a single streamline. Children can enter the Bubble from all floors. , you can also go to each floor through bubbles, which solves the drawbacks of the original streamline.
