The public space in transition.A space for everyone.A space with sojourn quality and informality. The chiringuito!the atmosphereCommunication, involvement, action, and conviviality are created through public space. These 4 topics are the main focus of a Chiringuito located at the northern end of an urban park – on a relatively quiet, almost meditative, urban meadow in the middle of a hectic ‚big city‘.Exactly at this spot, where most people don‘t even notice that it exists and almost march past with a tunnel view in the direction of the city or the bay of the park – a place should be created where you can meet, enjoy the surroundings, experience delicious food and above all encounter people. And yet, the social aspect has priority – a Chiriguito should not primarily be about the meals, but about creating relationships between those present through the food in narrative communities – the act of eating unites those present, coming together from various environments for a certain period of time to a social structure of its own. By the Chiriguito, this phenomenon should take place across social classes and be promoted.the buildingAbove all, there is the importance of the synergy and interaction between the given location, the atmosphe- re and the building, which should not be ignored or neglected by screaming headlines.A reduced, clearly formulated structure should set the focus on the people. The architecture of the Chiringuito thus only allows for a certain degree of abstraction, which is measured by its usefulness. The reduced structure is, based on the analyzed pedestrian flow, carefully considered embedded in the meadow in a sustainable way. The social aspects associated with the use emphasize that the building should be formu- lated without an atrium, as this would allow a visible demarcation and favoring of a room – after all, it‘s about the community and its equivalence. The building appears in a red color scheme – as a result it’s embedded prominently in the public green space and accentuated by memorability. Views in, out and through define the area – this makes accessibility subliminal and the formulated space tangible for everyone.
