Tiantongyuan has a resident population of 700,000, making it the largest community in Asia. Many are forced to live in basements, as are the unemployed and families who go to school nearby. However, the housing price here is not cheap, often costing 4 to 5 million yuan, which is one of the reasons for the great pressure of people living here. We hope to relieve people’s anxiety, busyness and pressure by a device that can temporarily make people forget the pressure and busyness of life. In such a state, both adults and children are at risk of psychological problems. So we try to heal their minds with light. Most of the people living in Tiantongyuan are outsiders, often referred to as “Bei Piao”.”Bei Piao” refers to people from non Beijing areas, non Beijng registered permanent residence, living and working in Beijing. Faced with social problems such as a large population and few employment opportunities, many “Bei Piao” are under tremendous pressure. People began to choose to return to their original nature, look back on childhood and seek spiritual comfort. Therefore, we focus on communities with high population density, small per capita living area and a large proportion of rental housing in Beijing. Light plays an important role in architecture. It not only affects the basic needs of People’s Daily life, but also has a certain influence on the psychology in the architectural space. What we are concerned about is the influence of the light in the building on people’s spirit and psychology. The building, enclosed by such ceilings, is filled with spray devices, making light an important factor in the three-dimensional graffiti. By connecting spirit and matter in this way, physical phenomena can be expressed in a more beautiful and impressive way, and art and science can be more perfectly integrated. People who stay in and out of the building can also participate through graffiti, allowing spiritual and cultural exchanges, transforming the two-dimensional world into a three-dimensional world. Our inspiration came from the paper-cut shadow we played in childhood. By cutting out various patterns on paper and using light to cast shadows of the cut patterns on the wall, it is like painting with light. Therefore, we want to create a device that can remind adults of the innocent and happy time of childhood, and allow children to temporarily leave the information world to simply graffiti and express themselves. To regain the childhood in this way, the adult and the child’s childhood together, making beautiful memories together.Through silica gel electrostatic adsorption principle to create a roof that can use light to create graffiti, for busy adults to vent their emotions or good wishes, where they can freely express themselves without fear of secular eyes, temporarily forget all kinds of hardships in life. It can also draw all kinds of dreams and happiness for the children nearby, creating good memories for their childhood. The design of this installation was originally intended to be a spiritual refuge for adults, inspired by the children’s drawings and graffiti. We added a spray device to the device to spray water mist in summer to cool down, in this environmentally friendly way to achieve the purpose of cooling. At the same time, the spray fog and sunlight will form the Tyndall effect, turning the patterns projected by the light into a column of light, making the graffiti three-dimensional. The Tyndall effect can also be the best case for parents to teach children about this physical phenomenon, increasing parent-child interaction and returning to simplicity. We called the installation Light Graffiti and built it underground so that people could watch the graffiti on the roof. Let people graffiti ,see graffiti ,get spiritual comfort and return to nature.
