A church is a place where people can find “solutions” when they encounter psychological or ideological difficulties. Materially speaking, it is a place where people gather to learn from each other, and spiritually speaking, it is a place to soothe their souls. The building is located in a village on the outskirts of Jerusalem. There is a strong connection between the church on the high slope and Jerusalem, which is known as the Holy City. Through the ingenious combination of light and religious spirit, the church provides people with a purifying experience of body and mind. The sequential church building, aside from luxury and decoration, reflects calmness and tranquility. The architectural space is flaky, flickering and dark. The long staircase on the stained glass roof is designed to remind people that the world’s flamboyant fans are as ethereal as light, calling people to forget vanity and step into a simple but quiet world. The atrium of the circular ramp creates a space for strolling, so that people can walk up quietly, look at the sky light at the top, gradually touch the roof, actively communicate with nature, and accept the baptism of light. Below the dark room is a rugged rock. A dark and narrow space is used to awaken people’s fear of darkness and yearning for light. A shimmer of light at the top represents the gift of nature. I hope people can achieve psychological transformation in this space. As the end of the sequence space, the auditorium can have a panoramic view of the natural scenery on the top of the mountain. The reason why a church building is used to reflect the dialogue between man and light is that the church building itself represents the redemption and cleansing of human psychology. Combining architecture with narrative and sense of sequence, and using minimalist decorative expression techniques, the architecture returns to the simplicity and solemnity of nature. It not only reflects the functionality of the church, but also makes it more like a place to comfort the soul, calling on people to control their emotions and feel the nature.
