Haihua island is an artificial island and the world’s largest artificial flower tourism island. It islocated in the bay area between PAIPU port and Yangpu Port in Danzhou City, Hainan Province, China. It starts from PAIPU town in the South and Baimajing town in the north. It is about 600m away from the coast and has a total span of about 6.8km.Hainan Haihua Island project of a real estate company has a reclamation area of 12000 Mu and a total investment of 160 billion yuan. However, relevant personnel of Hainan Nanhai Tropical Oceanography Research Institute pointed out that a common problem in many island filling projects such as Haihua island of the real estate company is that it is too close to the shore, and species such as offshore corals have died of albinism due to human disturbance.

We hope to set up a device through manual intervention to protect the healthy growth of newborn corals, and give the whitened corals color through light. We designed the form of the device to be similar to the creatures floating in the sea, in order to integrate it into the surrounding environment as much as possible. The device has two main functions: Firstly, it can resist ultraviolet rays and protect the growth of newborn corals. Ultraviolet radiation has a certain inhibitory effect on the development of coral larvae. Secondly, the light is refracted through the device, and the light beam of corresponding color is projected on the albino coral through the device, giving them the previous color.

Our device is mainly composed of two parts: light sheet structure and colored barrel structure. The sheet structure floats in accordance with the waves, resulting in folds and increasing the light receiving area of the light irradiated on the device. This can more effectively deal with light and reduce ultraviolet radiation, which is conducive to the growth and development of coral larvae. The cylindrical structure is arranged between the sheet-like structures. The light enters the cylindrical structure atter UV weakening treatment. After refraction, a colored beam is generated and irradiated on the albino coral, reproducing various colors such as green, blue, yellow, brown, red and purple when the coral is not albino.
