In the future projection -considering overurbanization and construction -, we do expect a dystopic, mega city scene in which daily life lack daylight in some layers of the metropolis and community according to socio-economical standards. The highlighted scenario emphasizes three layers of new urbanism. The first layer is the existing city that we are living in which is defined as the dark city of the future. The dark city is where the poor and desperate have to live since they couldn’t afford to settle in the newly constructed zone. The dark city has no streets because of overpopulation and undesired development plans. The second layer is again the existing city of today, however, it has its setting on the skyscraper level. The skyscraper zone has some openings and public zones but daylight is still not enough to have a healthy routine. The very last and top layer is the main focus of the projected dystopia. It includes mega constructions which definitely are out of human scale both in terms of their dimensions and conditions such as accessibility and publicness. Our team offers an adaptable system that has a simple technical recipe and meaningful abstract context. The structure consists of pipes that carry daylight in between these layers of the city. It collects the sunlight and concentrates it into this network of pipes and pipes transit this natural light to where ever needed with the help of reflectors. Meanwhile, daylight is essential, and the operation of this network is functional; if we were to undertake the situation dramatically, the travel of light from the very top to the very bottom symbolizes hope and exertion in the dark city.
