It can be seen from the seventh national census report in 2021 that the degree of social aging in China is increasing, and the demand and requirements for old-aged buildings are also increasing. However, the indoor natural light environment design of old-aged buildings has been difficult to meet the higher requirements of pension needs. Beijing is located in a cold area. It is cold and long in winter, which limits the outdoor activities of the elderly to a great extent. Therefore, the main activity places of the elderly in winter are concentrated in the indoor space of the building, resulting in the decline of the lighting time and quality of the elderly. At this time, sufficient natural lighting and good natural lighting environment are particularly important. Good and sufficient natural lighting is deeply related to the physical and mental health of the elderly. Insufficient lighting will cause emotional disorders and even physical diseases of the elderly. Therefore, reasonable natural lighting design has a great impact on the indoor space of elderly care buildings in cold areas and on improving their comfort and light environment quality.Taking the scheme design of old-aged building in Tongzhou District of Beijing as the starting point and the site selection planning and actual demand as the foothold, this thesis carries out the daylighting simulation analysis and research in the design of pension space. Through literature survey, this thesis analyzes and summarizes the physiological and psychological needs and characteristics of the elderly. Through the analysis of the site selection environment, this thesis puts forward a feasible pension building scheme design. The indoor space light environment of old-aged buildings from 10:00 to 15:00 on the winter solstice is selected as the main research object, and combined with computer software to simulate and analyze the impact of building window opening and room orientation, conduct comparative analysis, and then select the best scheme. The author hopes that through this research, it can provide some reference significance and corresponding strategies for the natural lighting environment design of elderly care buildings in Tongzhou District, Beijing, improve the light environment comfort of indoor space for the elderly, and make corresponding contributions to the health and society of the elderly.
