Buddhism and Taoism are the main religions in Fuzhou, Fujian, China. In their spare time, believers visit nearby temples or Buddha statues to make and repay their wishes. The project is located in the “ten thousand Buddha Grottoes” in Hezhang Rock, Shunchang, Fujian, China. Some Buddha statues will be placed inside the caves. The caves have accumulated water for a long time, and the light is dim, causing some believers to be injured on the way. The designer wanted to use some optical equipment and the on-site environment to create a bright space that could highlight the Buddha statue, which not only improves the brightness of the space but also enhances the image of the Buddha statue to the visitors, resulting in a better spatial effect.
