Project Description

As a world cultural heritage, the Forbidden City is the highest power center in China for more than five centuries, an unparalleled masterpiece in ancient Chinese architecture, and an invaluable historical witness of Chinese civilization in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. However, after the Forbidden City opened to the public as a scenic spot, a large number of tourists swarmed in. The seats, people and modern facilities destroyed the original beauty of the Forbidden City. The purpose of this project is to use the basic principles of light reflection and refraction, and set up a device composed of plexiglass modules and grids to eliminate these things and reshape the classical beauty of the Forbidden City. Different combination modes of plexiglass modules form different states of the device to control the vision of visitors purposefully. Hidden brick wall - made of rectangular glass bricks. Through pushing and pulling, vacuuming and other effects, it forms a kind of hidden effect. Through the refraction, transmission and reflection of light, to achieve the blur, shielding and shielding of modern facilities in the ancient architectural scenic spot, as well as the reflection of the ancient architectural landscape. By pushing and pulling the glass brick component, the refraction, transmission and reflection of the light can be adjusted to meet the needs of different line of sight. When there is no push-pull, the overall surface is flat and reflective, which can echo the opposite landscape. When the push-pull is large, the plane is staggered as a whole, and the refracted light interweaves with each other, which plays a role of blur and shielding for the subsequent modern facilities. All the components can be assembled and disassembled freely, which can achieve the effect at the same time, with more convenient mobility, assembly and convenience. It can adapt to the changes of the scene, and is also conducive to installation and operation.
