From a humble start in 2005, the VELUX Daylight Symposium has established itself as the most important, open and cross-disciplinary meeting forum for daylight enthusiasts from all over the world. The biennial symposium is where researchers, architects, lighting consultants, legislators, educators, manufacturers and more – meet each other and share knowledge and insights.

The 10th VELUX Daylight Symposium will take place this year on the 18 September 2025, celebrating 20 years of the event. It will bring together leading experts, researchers, and practitioners in Copenhagen to share insights and inspire dialogue around the role of daylight in architecture, health, and sustainability under the theme: “Towards Healthy, Resilient, and Sustainable Architecture.”

The program comprises 28 presentations from 32 speakers across two stages – each bringing a unique perspective with new research, knowledge, as well as best examples from practice on daylight and its impact on architecture, sustainability, and human well-being.

Featured speakers include:

  • Darron Haylock – Partner at Foster + Partners (UK)
  • Florencia Collo – Director at Atmos Lab (UK)
  • Joseph Allen – Professor at Harvard University (US)
  • Russell Foster – Professor at Oxford University (UK)

The event will be livestreamed so that everyone can experience inspiring talks and practical presentations on a range of topics related to daylighting design, sustainable buildings, and well-being.
