Shape, color and light are the three basic elements that constitute the aesthetics of the architectural environment, and through the selection of architectural shape and color, it can be skillfully combined with the visual effect of light. By exploring the physical properties and technological development of light, this thesis uses daylight for public space in urban residential areas, sorts out the historical evolution of light and color, and discusses the use of light by architects starting from natural lighting, as well as the changes in the form of people’s perception of light in the architectural light environment. At the same time, taking the plot of land at the confluence of the Five Rivers in Tongzhou District, Beijing as an example, the time quality of light in the plot and the changes in behavior and space with time and season are analyzed, and the influence of light on the function of space, urban culture and human spirit is discussed from the two aspects of the influence of light on plant color and the interaction mode of light environment. Simulate plots using Millipede and Wasp, adjust the internal parameters of the array to randomly generate building forms, observe different output values, and select reasonable urban spaces to help improve urban color quality.
