The fading of urban cultural icons has led to the homogenization and low quality of our public spaces. It is also difficult to highlight the image and characteristics of the city. At the same time, the fast-paced modern life makes urban residents more accustomed to receiving information efficiently and directly as an audience. This project takes the concept of “shadow play” into the design of the installation, translating the traditional shadow play through the interaction of human activity and light and shadow, and revitalizing the urban public space. We extracted the linear space of the traditional shadow play and chose the riverfront space to use the curtain as a sub-mirror to narrate the activities of urban people. In the interaction with the hazy and subtle light and shadow, light as the bottom of the picture, curtain as the medium, the shadow as the main character. Under the interaction of hazy and subtle light and shadow, people act as the protagonist on the stage of their own life “shadow play” and perform their own stories.
