Bolivia is dominated by plateau terrain, with an average altitude of more than 3000 meters. The annual ultraviolet index in most parts of the country exceeds the standard. As the sixth largest soybean planting country in the world, the soybean planting industry accounts for 3% of Bolivia’s gross national economy, with more than 100000 employees. However, compared with other soybean producing countries, Bolivia’s UV index is significantly stronger, and long-term strong UV will lead to the reduction of soybean crop production, which will cause huge economic losses to local governments and people. The design aims to set up a “sunshade” for Bolivia’s soybean fields in a low-tech, recyclable and popularized way, so as to reduce the impact of yield reduction caused by excessive ultraviolet rays. The site is located in a soybean planting area in pailon City, Santa Cruz region, Bolivia. There is a river on the south side of the site, which can meet the water demand of soybean “sunshade” during operation. At the same time, combined with the reclaimed water system, water resources are recycled. The design adheres to the principles of sustainability and replicability, meets the four requirements of sufficient light, moderate ultraviolet, ventilation and soil humidity during the growth of soybean, and provides four operation modes: strong light, normal light, cloudy and night. When the sunshine intensity is normal, the device is closed to meet the normal lighting demand of soybean. When sunlight and UV are too strong, the temperature sensing system will transmit signals, and the negative pressure valve and steam valve will start.Negative pressure valve will pump the river water into the device, and the water vapor under negative pressure will open the “sunshade”.The double-layer PO film swells up due to water vapor, and the active water vapor will effectively attenuate UV。Sufficient solar photovoltaic panels can store energy for the “solar umbrella” during the day to meet the lighting needs of farmers at night. The “sunshade” can also be opened and closed manually. If the natural light and ultraviolet intensity have made farmers feel hot and uncomfortable, but have not reached the level of reducing soybean production, the temperature sensing system will not sense, and the “sunshade” will not open. In this case, farmers can push and pull the umbrella rod at the bottom of the device to open the “sunshade” to achieve the effect of shading and cooling and create a comfortable farming environment. It is hoped that the design of the “soybean sunshade” device can effectively solve the problem of soybean production reduction caused by strong ultraviolet radiation in Bolivia, and achieve the effect of large-scale replication and use through the low technology and recyclability of the device, so as to solve the problem of soybean production reduction for the local government and residents in Bolivia.
