Trapped Light

The concept of TRAPPED LIGHT is by means of, can LIGHT be TRAPPED? as light couldn’t be trapped, it can pass through matters. Metaphors athlete as light, whereas the sports center as a platform tries to trap for the light that being pass-through to be a greater one. The site is located at the New Town, Taipa Village, Taipa Central 1, and comprises a total area of approximately 1.4 km2. The Taipa Village is planned to maintain the current style and height of the buildings and preserving the characteristics of the urban fabric and the streets.The slow-moving system should be optimized, planned, and improved accessibility to community activity spots (such as the Olympic Sports Center and the Longhuan Puyun (Taipa Museum Houses)). The land uses at Taipa Central 1 are for housing and tourist and entertainment areas, and a slight increase in population is expected. Taipa Village is a unique area, which is surrounded by all different kinds of programs. This project is next to the sports area and residential area. The existing site is now an outdoor sports field, with one mini football field, one hockey field, and a spare area for muti-sports.According to the government planning of the land use. Public Facilities should be proposed on the chosen site. Therefore, a sports center is proposed. The proposed Sports Center not only provide different kind of sports facilities, but also an extra leisure area for the community. Renovation of the sports area is proposed in this area. In order to create a sports center which help to triple the useable area compare to the existing. Sport center is a place where gather either athletes together, fight for the same goal, and share experiences.As well as to become a community centralization point providing space for a range of people to connect with sports. This help to create a better and healthier livelihood.Also as a new centrality point, connected to the surroundings. Expanding the public area, connecting the New Town, Taipa Village, casino and sports area.
